Meet the Most Amazing Bike Shop Staff in Lake Tahoe

When you rent a bike or e-bike in South Lake Tahoe, you're really renting a team. A rental is only as good as the people who hand you the helmet, tune the derailleur, and point you toward the best stretch of shoreline. Since our family took over Tahoe Bike Company in May 2025, we've been lucky enough to receive more than 125 new Google reviews — 98% of them a full five stars — and nearly every one of them says some version of the same thing: "the staff made it great." So we'd like to introduce you to the people behind those reviews. These are the folks you met when you walked through our door on Harrison Avenue.

Here's a closer look at the people who make it happen — the mechanics, rental experts, and shop regulars who treat every customer like a neighbor from the moment they walk through the door.

Adam — General Manager

Adam is, simply put, the most enthusiastic General Manager we could have imagined. Always positive. Always smiling. Always available. Always caring. After a long career as a tennis pro, he traded the court for the bike path in July 2026 and took over the management of the shop — and he's brought a coach's energy with him. Whether he's fitting a family with the right bikes, untangling a busy Saturday morning schedule, or just making sure everyone who walks in feels welcome, Adam runs the shop the way he'd run a match: focused, warm, and determined that everyone leaves a winner.

Nick — Operations Manager & Lead Mechanic

Nick joined us this year, and he's the reason our fleet is so impeccably maintained. Our renters work these bikes hard — e-bikes up to Baldwin Beach, surreys along the lakefront, kids' bikes on their first big adventure — and Nick is the one who gives every single one the TLC it needs. We care about our bikes like they're pets, and Nick is their favorite human. As Operations Manager and our lead mechanic, he keeps everything from the fleet to the flow of the shop running smoothly. Off the clock, he's a proud dad — one kid in high school and another in college.

Anita — Customer Service Leader

Anita lives around the corner from the shop, which tells you something: she's always there when we need an extra hand, and always with a smile that no busy Saturday can dent. After a long career in retail sales and customer service, she joined us last spring, and her warmth is exactly what our guests need — especially anyone feeling a little anxious about riding an e-bike for the first time. Anita has a gift for turning first-time jitters into big grins, usually within the first five minutes of a test ride. If you've ever left our shop feeling more confident than when you arrived, chances are you have Anita to thank.

Seth — Bike Mechanic

Seth was trained by Nick himself, which in our shop is the highest seal of approval a mechanic can earn. He's got a natural feel for the bikes and the same pride in the work. Right now, Seth is off on the ultimate mechanic's field trip: three months biking through Europe. Somewhere between the Alps and wherever the road takes him, he's collecting stories (and probably diagnosing every squeaky rental bike he passes). We look forward to his return in November — the fleet will be very glad to see him.

David — Customer Service Associate

David is our part-time associate and a senior in high school — and a natural with both bikes and customers. Ask him a question about a rental and he answers like he's been in the business for years; watch him with a family getting fitted for bikes and you'd never guess he's juggling this job with homework. We're not saying David is the future of the shop… but we're not not saying it either.

Our summer crew of local South Lake Tahoe High School girls brought a lot of fun to the shop last summer. Video was directed, recorded and edited by Charlotte, starring Analiz, Kiki, and Charlotte

The Summer Crew

We can't forget the heart of our summer: our Summer Crew, a group of local high school girls who brought more fun to the shop than we thought possible. They greeted customers with energy that never dipped, enthusiastically produced some genuinely fun videos for our social media, and — this is the part we're proudest of — learned a lot about life from their more mature colleagues. Watching Adam, Nick, and Anita pass along their work ethic, people skills, and shop wisdom to the next generation is exactly what a local business should be. To the Summer Crew: thank you for the laughter, the videos, and for making the shop a better place.
